Student Support Services

At Old Town Academy, we provide tiered instruction and intervention in a Response to Intervention (RTI) model. Our Save Our Students (SOS) team process assures that the needs of all students are being met. This flow chart to the right illustrates our process.

Old Town Academy is a full inclusion charter school, in which all students with learning disabilities receive their total education within the regular education classroom. Pull-out sessions are dependent on each individual IEP, and OTA supports the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) which mandates a free and appropriate public education in the least restrictive environment appropriate for the student's specific learning needs.

Collaboration between OTA's Education Specialist and administration, the El Dorado County Special Education Local Planning Area (SELPA), and Specialized Therapy Services assure our students with IEPs are receiving support and resources necessary to meet their instructional goals and objectives.
