Wow! It's been a busy week! We had our first in person Foundation Meeting and we covered a lot! If you weren’t able to join us, please consider coming out next month, Tuesday Oct 3. More information about past and future meetings can always be found on the website under the Foundation tab.

Our amazing 6th graders have selected Charlie and the Chocolate Factory for our upcoming movie night! And speaking of one of my favorite books, the Book Fair is back! Expect details to come out next week, but get ready! The more books you buy for your bookshelves, the more books we can put on our bookshelves at OTA!

Jog A Thon is right around the corner and our t-shirt design contest is live and open! We understand there were some issues getting the design contest announcement out, so we have extended the deadline to Monday, September 11. You should receive your JAT packet today. Each child needs their own account. Last, but never least, Sponsorships are critical to our success at this event. Please share with your local businesses and get them to support your favorite charity, your kids! Please make checks payable to the OTA Parent Foundation though.

Community Events

This year we are continuing to build relationships with Old Town! We are currently working on plans to represent OTA in the Día de Los Muertos Mercado, Oct 28/29 and the Día de Los Muertos Procession, Nov 2. I hope you can come out to see this amazing event. 

Speaking of Old Town - the Annual Taste of Old Town is kicking off the night before Movie Night. That could be two nights in a row of no cooking! They have discounts just for us, just use the promo code, “OTA” to get $5 off General Admission and kids tickets are only $15. 

Volunteer Opportunities and Highlights

• Looking for a better drop off line experience? The school will be seeking volunteers to help with Pick Up and Drop Off. If you are interested now, please reach out to Mr. Phillips to schedule a shift. 
• Want the campus to be in tip top shape for movie night? The school is looking to host a beautification weekend, September 16. Please email Mr. Sotelo if you are able to make it.
