Notes from the Parent Foundation
The Board meeting was this week. Thank you to those who came out, listened and supported. It’s better in person, but don’t worry, we will always share a recap! The Board posts their meeting to YouTube and the Agendas are on the website. The Foundation updates to the Board can be found here, Foundation Report to the Board for 9/13.
Jumping ahead, but some super important items on our first major fundraiser of the year! Jog A Thon will come up quick and while it isn’t till Oct 20, we have some deadlines approaching!
The Design Contest for our JAT T-shirt is ending today! Hopefully all the kids got their art in. Voting will take place next week and we will announce the winners on the 22nd! Sponsorships are also due by then if they want to be included in the t-shirt printing and the banner. Please use the Sponsorship sign ups links. And while you’re at it, create your personal page! We have 16 kids signed up so far. Let’s double or triple that number before our next update!
Our new board members are off to a great start – welcome aboard, everyone! And welcome back to our continuing officers! Our recent board meeting was highly productive, and we have exciting developments ahead. We are really focusing back on our CoreKnowledge roots, so expect to hear more about that this year. And our amazing staff has received new art training they will be taking back to the classroom to help engage and excite the student.
I would like to highlight one area where we can improve as a school community: being better neighbors when it comes to driving. Please take a moment to review the traffic guidelines provided by OTA, but the simple rule is always making right turns—no U-turns, left turns, or donuts! Let's keep our neighbors' driveways clear, set a positive example by being patient and considerate, and ensure our kids can walk safely and use crosswalks. Thanks for your attention, and now let's get back to the exciting events we have planned!
Events are all linked for your convenience, but I do want to draw your attention to the SignUp slots available for each! This is your chance to be involved in On-Campus Community building!
- Campus Clean Up is this weekend! Let's get ready for Movie Night, Book Fairs, JAT and all the fun things in store! Sept. 16 from 1PM - 3PM. SignUp to Volunteer!
- Movie Night is the 22nd, featuring Charlie and the Chocolate Factory! SignUp to Volunteer! We need you to make this happen!
- The Book Fair is seeking help all week, Sept 25-29, from 8-10 and 3-4 each day, and we would love some volunteers to help out at movie night for our soft opening! SignUp to Volunteer!
Our full list of volunteer opportunities is published here.
