Parent Foundation
The Old Town Academy Parent Foundation is the volunteer-led, nonprofit organization that supports Old Town Academy Charter School (OTA) through community engagement and fundraising. Commonly referred to as the Foundation, we’re made up of OTA families who are dedicated to enriching our students’ educational experience. we are composed of OTA families dedicated to enriching our students’ educational experience. We work closely with community members including parents, guardians, faculty, staff, donors, sponsors, and board members at OTA to achieve our mission.
Our mission is to support OTA by fundraising for programs and resources that enhance student learning, including classroom technology, enrichment activities, campus improvements, and teacher appreciation initiatives.
We invite all OTA families to get involved by volunteering, donating, or participating in Foundation events throughout the year. Together, we help build a stronger school community.
The Foundation’s Purpose Is to Support Our School!
We do this in a number of ways, including:
-
Facilitating community building and fostering strong family involvement in school activities and fundraising events.
-
Engaging parents and guardians to support and uplift OTA’s dedicated faculty and staff.
-
Contributing to the financial health of OTA by helping bridge critical gaps in funding and resources through strategic fundraising efforts.
-
Supporting student-centered events and academic programming that fuel creativity, curiosity, and excellence.
-
Identifying and addressing specific school needs by partnering with our community and school board to build stronger pathways to student success.
-
Strengthening STEM, Robotics, and Arts education—empowering the next generation of innovators, problem-solvers, and creators.
How can I get involved?
Donation and Volunteerism come in many shapes, forms, and abilities—and the Foundation embraces them all. There is no greater cause than investing in the education of our future generations, and we thank you for your support.
Our school handbook encourages families to commit to 40 hours of volunteering each school year. Every bit of support counts—whether it’s through corporate donations, in-kind contributions, unique skills, or time spent serving in one of our committee leadership roles, including: Classroom Parents, Jog-A-Thon , Gala ,Grant Writing & Donations , Campus Support Committee.
Benefits of Having a Foundation
Charter School ( OTA ) education offers a unique and enriching experience for our children — but public school funding alone doesn’t cover the full cost of that experience.
That’s where the OTA Parent Foundation plays a vital role.
The Foundation helps bridge the financial gap between what the state provides and what we, as a community, envision for our students. Through fundraising and volunteer support, the Foundation helps fund essential programs, educational enhancements, enrichment opportunities, and school events that would otherwise be out of reach.
